The Forsyth Spay Neuter Clinic opened to the public and shelters in March of 2004. The clinic is fully staffed with 2 licensed veterinarians, vet techs and a professional and friendly office staff. We are sponsored by a local non-profit Save The Animals. Currently our spay neuter clinic schedules up to fifty-five animals per day Monday thru Wednesday and up to fifteen male animals on Thursday. Approximately fifty percent of our clients come from Forsyth County and the remaining from the surrounding counties. On an average day we answer at least one hundred fifty phone calls a day from people who need to make an appointment or have questions.
Many local organizations such as Forsyth Humane Society, Animal Adoption and Rescue Foundation, the Police Department, and local veterinarians refer their callers to us for assistance. We currently provide surgical services for over fifteen other non-profit rescue and adoption organizations. Out of the many phone calls we get daily many of them come from clients that need more than one animal altered.

What do our services include?
Female dogs and cats are spayed by removing their reproductive organs, and male dogs and cats are neutered by removing their testicles. In both cases the operation is performed while the pet is under anesthesia and is given 24 hour pain medication after surgery as part of the anesthesia protocol. Your pets incision is closed using dissolvable sutures unless staples are needed, in which case you are notified and they are to return in 14 days for removal. Our veterinarians and staff monitor your pet after surgery and they are allowed to go home the same day. Should your pet need it, we offer post-op checks, usually at no cost.
What can you do to prepare for your pets surgery?
- No food after midnight the night before surgery for cats and dogs. Water is permitted.
- Puppies and kittens under 16 weeks of age can eat up to 2 hours prior to surgery.
- Check In is from 7:30am-8:30am
- A current rabies vaccine is required for all pets 12 weeks of age or older. If your pet is up to date on its rabies, you must provide proof with the rabies certificate - we cannot go by the tag alone. A rabies vaccine will be administered here if it is due.
- All dogs must be on a leash and all cats must be in a carrier. One pet per carrier!
- Pick Up is from 4:00pm-5:00pm same day unless stated otherwise. We do not keep your pet over night.
